Team Target Indianapolis 500 Winning Cars Displayed at Indianapolis Motor Speedway

In coordination with next year’s 100th running of the Indianapolis 500, Indianapolis Motor Speedway conducted a photo shoot with 33 former winning cars of the “Greatest Spectacle in Racing.” Among these automobiles on the grid were two former Target Chip Ganassi Racing cars – The 2000 Winner driven by Juan Pablo Montoya, and the 2010 Winner driven by Dario Franchitti.

Both Franchitti and Montoya’s wins contributed to the history of the “Greatest Spectacle in Racing.” Montoya won the race as a rookie, leading 167 laps en route to victory lane, which earned him the fifth-most dominating performance at the 2.5-mile oval in its 99-year history.

Franchitti’s performance last May saw him lead 155 laps en route to the victory, which ranked him ninth all-time in dominating performances at IMS. Franchitti also became only the fifth a driver to win both the Indianapolis 500 and national championship in the same season, on two separate occasions.
