Notes
- Although the Target cars paced the first 1:15 practice session in first and third, the team got the most from their respective set-ups in qualifying and will work to be ready to race.

- In eight starts at Iowa Speedway, Team Target has an average starting position of 3.5 and an average finishing position of 7.0, which includes two wins (Wheldon-2008, Franchitti-2009) and two poles (Dixon-2007/2008).

- Although Dixon qualified 23rd, it’s interesting to note the only other time he’s ever qualified 23rd in his Indy car career (178 starts) was at Nazareth Speedway in 2001 where he went on to lead 36 laps to win the race – the first victory of his career.

- Co-point leaders Franchitti and Power (179.474 mph) qualified within 0.0001-seconds of each other and will start start sixth and fifth, respectively.
