Franchitti Nominated for 2009 LA Sports Award

INDIANAPOLIS (January 15, 2010) – Team Target fans can vote for Dario Franchitti in the L.A. Sports Council’s “2009 Greatest Moments”.

The LA Sports Awards is an annual televised awards show celebrating the greatest sports moments of the year in the Los Angeles/Orange County area. Franchitti is nominated in the motorsports category for his dominating victory at the 2009 Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach where he led 51 of 85 laps to take the win on his way to winning his second IZOD IndyCar Series championship.

Fans can vote through January 31 by visiting www.lasports.org and clicking on the “Greatest Moments” icon at the top of the home page. The winners will be revealed on February 19 at the fifth Annual LA Sports Awards Show televised on Fox Sports Net.

The L.A. Sports Council is a non-profit organization and will utilize the event’s proceeds to further its mission of promoting economic development through sports in Southern California.
