CART

Team owner Chip Ganassi and new sponsor Target began their partnership in 1990 with the creation of a one-car IndyCar team. Ganassi became the first owner to lead his team to four consecutive championships with Jimmy Vasser (1996), Alex Zanardi (1997-98) and then with rookie driver Juan Montoya's championship in 1999.

IRL IndyCar Series

In 2003, following a switch from the CART Series to the Indy Racing League, Ganassi and Team Target driver Scott Dixon proved they could meet the challenge of a new series and new competition by capturing the IndyCar Series Championship with three wins and five poles.

Grand Am Rolex Sports Car Series

Founded in 2004, TELMEX Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates fields the No.01 Daytona Prototype in the Rolex Sports Car Series for Scott Pruett and Memo Rojas. The team burst onto the sports car scene in 2004 winning the Daytona Prototype Team and Driver Championships, and has since won back-to-back Rolex 24 At Daytonas from 2006-2007. CGRFS and Scott Pruett continue to rewrite the Rolex record books as the winningest team and driver in series history.

NASCAR Nationwide Series

Created in 2004, the CGRFS Nationwide Series program claimed its first victory in just six starts, and then went full time in 2005 with then-rookie Reed Sorenson to add two more victories to its running tally. The 2007 season added two more wins to the program, which continues to play a crucial role in the overall education of the race team—from driver to pit crew members—it all begins here.

ARCA RE/MAX Series

The ARCA RE/MAX Series is a non-NASCAR sanctioned series, but serves as an additional platform for NASCAR teams to develop young talent and hone the skills of their full-time drivers. Since it made its first official run in 2003, the CGRFS ARCA program has recorded six wins and continues to provide an excellent training ground for the driver development program.
