Alex Palou

Driver, Chip Ganassi Racing

Alex Palou enters the 2024 campaign as the defending NTT INDYCAR SERIES champion. At 26 years old, Palou has achieved two series championships (2023 and 2021), nine wins and 24 podiums through his first 50 starts with Chip Ganassi Racing.

Palou made history last season, becoming just the sixth driver in the 100-plus-year history of the sport to win multiple championships at 26-or-younger (Mario Andretti; Sebastien Bourdais; A.J. Foyt; Sam Hornish Jr.; Louis Meyer). He is the fourth driver to win multiple championships with Chip Ganassi Racing (Scott Dixon; Dario Franchitti; Alex Zanardi).

The Spaniard also finished the season with a 3.71 average finishing position, which is the best mark in a single season by any driver since 2006 (Bourdais – 3.64). With five race wins and 10 podiums on the season, Palou became the first driver to clinch the championship before the season finale since series reunification (Bourdais – 2007).

Palou led a breakout season with Chip Ganassi Racing in 2021 where he tallied three wins and 12 top-10 finishes en route to hoisting the Astor Cup as series champion. Palou collected his first series win in his first ever start with Chip Ganassi Racing at Barber Motorsports Park.

In 2020, Palou scored his first career podium at Road America in his rookie INDYCAR season with Dale Coyne Racing, while also impressing with a seventh-place qualifying effort in his first attempt at the Indianapolis 500.

Prior to making the jump to North American racing, Palou won a Super Formula Championship race in 2019, competed at the All-Japan Formula 3 championship in 2017, recorded his first race in the Formula 3 Series in 2015, and made his debut in open-wheel racing competing in the Euroformula Open Championship in 2014.
