At 31, Marcus Ericsson joins Chip Ganassi Racing for his fourth season in the NTT INDYCAR SERIES after a prosperous 2021 season where he claimed his first two series victories (Belle Isle and Nashville). Ericsson claimed victory at the 106th running of the Indy 500 in 2022. Ericsson also collected 12 top-10 finishes last season, tied with teammates Scott Dixon and Alex Palou for the 2nd-most in the NTT INDYCAR SERIES. He will again pilot the No. 8 Huski Chocolate Honda for the 2022 season.

In his rookie year of 2019 in the NTT INDYCAR SERIES, Ericsson scored his first-ever podium with a career-best finish of second in Detroit. He also had six laps led on the season and completed 88.5% of the laps run.

Prior to joining the NTT INDYCAR SERIES, Ericsson raced in Formula 1 for five seasons for a total of 97 starts. The Kumla, Sweden, native is a two-time champion (Formula BMW UK, 2007; Japanese Formula Three, 2009), and has twice claimed the Swedish Junior Racer of the Year award (2007, 2009). Prior to that, he competed in British Formula Three, GP2 Asia and GP2.
