Chip Ganassi Racing Notches First Extreme E Win in Sardinia
Extreme E
The No. 99 GMC HUMMER EV was triumphant Thursday, securing their first ever victory in the Extreme-E series in the Round 2 race in Sardinia, Italy.
The victory for Kyle LeDuc, Sara Price and the Chip Ganassi Racing Extreme-E crew came after an up-and-down start at the Island X Prix. The team topped the leaderboard in both practices Tuesday, but then faced adversity the following day during Qualifying.
Kyle LeDuc and Sara Price vaulted to P1 after a 30-second penalty was enforced on the No. 6 car for a collision on the first lap of the Final. The victory awarded the No. 99 GMC HUMMER EV Chip Ganassi Racing team 25 points, a momentous swing after a solid P4 finish in the season-opening race in February.
