Chip Ganassi Racing's GMC HUMMER EV team produced their first podium of Extreme E's Season 3 in Dumfries & Galloway, Scotland, today.
With the P3 result, the No. 99 team now sits fifth in the series standings through the second of five race weekends. However, the team is right within striking distance as just three points separate the third, fourth and fifth-place teams.
"There was plenty of carnage out there again today, but we worked through it," said Amanda Sorensen. "It's about consistency and holding it together."
RJ Anderson, Sorensen and the GMC HUMMER EV team are one of just two teams to advance to compete in the Grand Final all four rounds this season. They've exhibited impressive progression, earning P5, P5, P4 and P3 finishes in that order.
"We have great heat races, won both of our qualifications and then just can't get the starts in the Final locked down. I got so much mud on the windscreen that the wipers wouldn't move. I was holding the water button, trying to get them to spin," said Anderson. "So I'm a bit disappointed, but I'm still stoked for the Chip Ganassi Racing team with the result. What a day!
