Chip Ganassi Racing Awarded Six GOAL Medals for Sustainability

INDIANAPOLIS (Oct. 18, 2024) – Chip Ganassi Racing (CGR) has been awarded six GOAL Medal Awards recognizing the team’s accomplishments toward sustainability. These acknowledgements follow CGR’s commitment to ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) efforts in the organization and beyond with its “One Team, One Planet" platform.

The GOAL Medals are an opportunity to recognize leadership across sports in a variety of ESG topics. The areas are broken into 10 categories that GOAL Members can be recognized for various actions at either a bronze, silver, or gold level.

Notes of Interest:

  • Six Medals Awarded: CGR received two gold and four bronze medals in the following ESG categories: Health & Wellness, Food & Nutrition, Diversity & Inclusion, ESG Strategy & Commitment, and Community Resilience. These medals give recognition for efforts in CGR’s inaugural year of its program and serve as a springboard into the future to get closer to the team’s goals.
  • Goals for the Future: Announced this April, CGR's sustainability goals include moving toward 100% renewable energy, zero waste, carbon emissions reduction, and community engagement.
  • Joining Teams Across Sports: With the recognition, CGR joins other championship organizations, including more than a dozen teams across the NBA, MLB and NHL in being acknowledged for its sustainability work. The GOAL network includes more than 50 sporting teams, venues and organizations around the world.
