“We’ve still got a lot to learn and figure out a lot about it. I don’t even know what direction the track really goes, I don’t know what the streets look like, I don’t know what the area looks like, I know nothing about it. We’ve got a lot to learn when we get there. It’s tough. The engineers do a lot of prep. They run a ton of simulations and make a lot of predictions of what they think the track is going to be like, they’ll have their guess. It’s not an easy thing to figure out, we’ll really only know once we get there. I just want to get out on track and we’ll figure it out as we go.”

“I’ve seen the drone footage of Markham. What’s key to this event is having good partners, right? I think Markham, the city, is really embracing the race and putting in a lot of infrastructure and a lot of money, which is really important for the longevity of the race there. A bit of mixed emotions, you know the only track in Toronto or in that vicinity has been the one we’ve done the last 15-20 years so we’ll miss that downtown vibe. But I’m excited for a new track. I think everybody’s excited for a new track and the layout looks pretty fun. There’s a pretty interesting corner, I think it wraps back around itself, so yeah, should be fun.”

“We won’t be on the simulator until a few days before we get there, so we don’t know what to expect. It’s going to be a crazy difference and I honestly haven’t even looked at the track yet so it’s going to be tough. We don’t know what the bumps are going to do and even though they scanned, we don’t know every single bump. It may shake things up a lot, but I feel like every time we go to a new track the team just excels.”
